Social Media Policy for NuHu Therapy

At NuHu therapy, we recognize the growing role of social media in everyday life. While these platforms can provide valuable information and foster community engagement, it's crucial to maintain clear boundaries between therapists and clients. To ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the therapeutic relationship, the following guidelines have been established:

1. Social Media as a Non-Therapeutic Space

  • Any content shared by therapists on their social media profile is intended for general informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for therapy and does not constitute the controlled act of psychotherapy.

  • The therapeutic process occurs in a private, confidential space during scheduled sessions. Social media interactions do not replace or replicate the therapeutic environment.

2. Professional Boundaries

  • Clients are advised not to follow, engage with, like, comment, or message their therapist’s social media pages. Doing so can blur the boundaries of the therapeutic relationship and potentially compromise confidentiality.

  • Therapists will not accept friend requests or follow clients on any social media platforms to maintain the professional boundary essential for effective therapy.

3. Confidentiality

  • To protect your privacy, we ask that you do not disclose personal or clinical details about your therapy in any public or private social media communication. All therapeutic discussions should take place within the confines of your sessions.

  • Our therapists are committed to maintaining confidentiality and will not discuss or acknowledge your therapy process on social media.

4. Therapist’s Social Media Activity

  • Therapists may use social media profiles to share resources, articles, or general information relevant to mental health and well-being. This content is not tailored to individual clients and should not be interpreted as personalized therapeutic support.

  • Should you come across your therapist’s social media profile, please remember that any opinions expressed are personal and not necessarily reflective of the clinic’s stance.

5. Inquiries and Emergencies

  • Social media is not an appropriate platform for seeking therapy-related support.

  • In case of a mental health emergency, please contact emergency services immediately or visit your nearest emergency department.

6. Online Presence and Reviews

  • While you are free to share your experiences with our services, we encourage you to do so through appropriate channels. If you choose to leave a review online, please be mindful of your own privacy and confidentiality.

  • Our therapists will not respond to reviews or online comments, as doing so could breach client confidentiality.

By adhering to these guidelines, we aim to protect the therapeutic environment and ensure that our clients receive the highest standard of care. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please feel free to discuss them with your therapist.
