What is Psychotherapy?

Counselling, psychotherapy, or therapy all refer to a collaborative process where individuals work with a registered psychotherapist to address emotional, psychological, and behavioural issues.

Individual therapy at our practice involves one-on-one virtual sessions tailored to your needs.

These sessions provide a safe, confidential space to explore challenges, understand thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, process challenging experiences and trauma, and improve overall well-being.

Our Approach and Philosophy

Our therapeutic approach is integrative, emphasizing the connection between body, mind, and spirit.

We draw from various therapeutic styles including mindfulness-based therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and client-centered therapy to create a personalized treatment approach that addresses your unique needs.

Session Structure

All sessions are offered virtually via Jane. Jane is a secure telehealth video call app.

The initial intake session is 80 minutes. Regular therapy sessions are 50 minutes.

A typical therapy session involves discussing current issues, exploring thoughts and feelings, and working on coping strategies. Sessions may also include mindfulness exercises, skill-building activities, goal setting, and homework assignments.

Progress and Goals

Progress is measured through regular check-ins and assessments. We work with clients to set achievable goals and continuously evaluate progress, making adjustments to the treatment plan as needed to ensure effective outcomes.
